Dr. Tianrui Zhao
Principal Investigator
Tianrui is a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow at School of Biomedical & Imaging Science, King’s College London. He received his Ph.D from this school in 2022, and his B.Sc. in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University, China, and M.Sc. degree in Materials for Energy and Environment from University College London, UK, in 2015 and 2016, respectively. His research interests include developing photonics sensing devices for clinical and healthcare applications.
Xuan Liu
PhD Student (Supervisors: Dr. Tianrui Zhao, Prof. Sebastien Ourselin)
Xuan achieved her master’s degree in Physics and Engineering in Medicine, focusing on Biomedical Engineering and Medical Imaging, from University College London in 2023. She completed her undergraduate studies in Biomedical Engineering through a joint program at Southern Medical University and the University of Dundee in 2022. Her PhD research centres on the application of wavefront shaping techniques for deep-tissue photoacoustic imaging.
Xiaoyu Zhang
KURF Research Fellow
Xiaoyu is an undergraduate student of Physics in King’s College London. She is working as a research assistant in our lab through the KURF program. Her research interests focus on optical engineering and the application of optical devices in clinical settings, particularly in optical sensing for blood flow monitoring.
Yingqi Jiang
Research Assistant
Yingqi achieved his master’s degree in Electronic Information through a joint program between Hangzhou DianziUniversity and Zhejiang University in 2024. He is working as a research assistant through a collaboration program with Zhejiang University. His research interests focus on the application of optoelectronic and optical sensing devices in clinical settings, especially in deep-tissue sensing and imaging.
